January 2005 marks the start of 2005 the "EU-Japan Year of People-to-People Exchanges"
  At the 11th EU-Japan Summit Meeting in 2002 representatives of the EU and Japan designated 2005 as a year of "EU-Japan Year of People-to-People Exchanges". Beginning in January, a variety of exchange events are scheduled to be held between people in Japan and 25 nations of the European Union. The following is a list of these events planned by the Japan Foundation.
