Applications being accepted for 2008 Performing Arts Japan (PAJ) grant programs for Europe (Sept. 1 to Oct. 12)
 The Performing Arts Japan (PAJ) grant program aims to support efforts of European-based arts organizations (festivals, theaters, presenters, etc.) that seek to introduce outstanding Japanese performing arts to local audiences in Europe.
Applications are now being accepted for 2008 grants under this program (for the period from Jan. 2008 to June 2009). The receiving office for these applications is the Japan Cultural Institute in Paris. Information about the application contents and the application forms can be downloaded from the office’s Web site.

Program Aims:
(1) To support the proper introduction of carefully selected Japanese performing arts with evenly planned geographic coverage in Europe
(2) To assist well-envisioned Europe-Japan collaborative projects during the creational phases of new works
(3) To encourage educational forums in addition to performances (e.g. workshops and artist-in-resident activities, to introduce European audiences to Japanese performing arts in the context of their history, culture and development

Qualified Areas:
Europe (with the exception of the Russia Federation, Uzbekistan, Kyrgys, Tadzikistan and Turkmenistan)
