International Triennale of Contemporary Arts Yokohama 2005 opens
 The second holding of the Yokohama Triennale that began in 2001 as a festival of contemporary art in the harbor city of Yokohama opened on September 28 and will run until December 18. The main venues are two large warehouses on the Yamashita Pier area of the harbor. Invited general director for this year’s triennale is the internationally active artist Tadashi Kawamata, and the participating artists number about 80 groups and individuals. Under a theme of an “Art Circus and the Embodiment of Dynamism” a wide variety of attractions are scheduled, including a large number of performances by contemporary dancers.
