Dance Triennale Tokyo 2006 opens
From October 22 to November 19, the Dance Triennale Tokyo 2006 will be held at venues including the Aoyama Theatre, Aoyama Round Theatre and Spiral Hall. Organized jointly by these private-sector theaters and an organizing committee consisting primarily of critics from the performing arts, this festival brings to Tokyo a program of leading dancers (19 companies, approx. 120 dancers) from 10 countries. Among the invited performers are Finland’s Tommi Kitti, Canada’s Louise Lecavalier and Israel’s Yasmeen Godder. Representing Japan will be Ryohei Kondo of the Condors, Mineko Saito of the Idevian Crew, Makoto cluv and Pappa Tarahumara, promising to make this a month of variety.
