The Japan Foundation Overseas Programs Around the World (from March 2007)
 The Japan Foundation will sponsor the following performance programs beginning from February 2007.
+WASAN BOM Middle East, Africa Tour
As part of the programs of concentrated cultural exchange with the Middle East and Africa in 2007, the Japanese traditional music group WASAN BOM will tour to Turkey, Morocco and Algeria for a schedule of performances and workshops.

+Visiting performances of contemporary theater from Uzbekistan's Ilkhom Theatre--Imitations of the Koran by Alexander Pushkin
The Russian-language theater company Ilkhom Theatre of Tashkent, Uzbekistan has been invited to Japan to give performances in Matsumoto and Tokyo of the play Imitations of the Koran based on an original drama by Pushkin. This program is the first to present contemporary theater from Central Asia to the Japanese audience. Plans call for the performances to be accompanied by symposiums by theater critics and Russian literature scholars and concerts by the musicians who perform the accompaniment and narration for the play. The Tokyo performances will be part of the Tokyo International Arts Festival program.

+Rin’ Performances in China
The Japanese traditional music ensemble Rin' (koto, shamisen, shakuhachi) will be sent to China to give performances as part of the programs commemorating the 35th anniversary of the normalization of Japan-China political relations.

+Visiting performances of contemporary theater from the Middle East (co-sponsored by TIF)
Performances by the contemporary theater companies Rabih Mroue (Lebanon) and Familia Productions (Tunisia) to come to Japan. The Tokyo performances will be part of the Tokyo International Arts Festival program.
