Chelfitsch productions Five Days in March and Cooler tour seven N. American cities (from Jan. 9, 2009)
 Playwright and director Toshiki Okada and his theater unit Chelfitsch are currently the focus of much international attention, as evidenced by their nine-country tour of 13 cities in 2008. From January into February of 2009 they will be taking their representative works Five Days in March, which takes its subject from the Iraq War, and the dance work Cooler on a tour of seven N. American cities. Chelfitsch’s schedule for 2009 also includes performances in Germany and France. Meanwhile, Okada has also made his debut as a writer with the publication of a collection of short stories titled Watshitachi ni Yurusareta Tokubetsu na Jikan no Owari (The End of the Special Time Allowed Us) in 2008, which won the Kenzaburo Oe Prize.
