Performing Arts Market Seoul 2008 (PAMS) held (Oct. 7-10, 2008)
The 4th Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS) is held this year from October 7 to 10. This time the market leaves its previous venue, the “University Road” (Taehangno) theater district of Seoul, and moves to the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts as its main venue, where showcases will be held for 17 domestic artists and companies (four theater, five dance, three music and four performance pitch sessions of 15 minutes each) and booths by 80 domestic and international exhibitors will be mounted. Also, in connection with 2009’s 50th anniversary of the Korea-Brazil Amity treaty and the 45th anniversary of the Korea-Uruguay Amity treaty, a “Status of Central American Performing Arts” forum will be featured along with a “World Music’s Entry in International Stage” forum.

As part of the tie-up with the Tokyo Performing Arts Market (TPAM) since 2005, there will also be showcases introducing Japanese artists. There will be performances of the work WASURA by the 25-string koto (Japanese harp) performers Karin Nakagawa with Ken Kaizu & YAO (Oct. 10, KT Art Center). There will also be a booth exhibit in cooperation with the Japan Foundation.
