Niwagekidan Penino tours the United States with The Room Nobody Knows for the first time (Jan. 8 – Feb. 9, 2014)
The Niwagekidan Penino theater company led by Kuro Tanino is performing its recent work The Room Nobody Knows (Daremo Shiranai Anata no Heya) in five cities in the United States in a tour produced by the Japan Society. This play is a work that creates spaces based on the fantasies being imagined in a room shared by a student studying for university entrance exams and his older brother. It premiered in February of 2012 in the studio “Hakobune” (Ark) created by renovating and modifying one room of an old apartment in the Shibuya district of Tokyo and has been performed in Osaka, Helsinki and Luzern. The present tour brings it to the United States for the first time.
