||As Pats of Japan Society's 2012-2013 Performing Arts season, the Society will present and produce tradiotional dance and music from the Kiromori Kagura repertoireas performed by 11 kagura -shu, or local cagura performers.Kuromori Kagura, designated by the japanese government as an Intangible Cultural Property in 2006, was developed severalhundred years ago and has been maintained since then.Kuromori Kagura has been performed and extensively tourd in worship of the divine spirit of the Kuromori Shirine, which is located in the town of Yamaguchi in Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture, located in Tokoku region, which was devastated by an earthquake and tsunami on March11, 2011.

||As part of her appointment as New York Live Arts 2011-2013 Resident Commision Artist, Yasuko Yokoshi wiii create a new work entitled "Bell" with her long-term collaborator Masumi Seyama, successor of Kabuki master Kanjuro Fujima IV."Bell" will reimagine the classical piece "Kyoganoko Musume Dojoji" and feature yokoshi, japanese classical dancer Kayo Seyama, New York-based dancer Neal Beasley, and four contemporary jazz musicians from Ireland, Australia, and Japan who will reinterpret the original Nagauta song score to Wastern instruments and perform live.
